This is a hands-on opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys solving problems, working directly with employees, and supporting technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will work closely with our Corporate IT Manager and plant leadership while having ownership of day-to-day IT support and systems at our Knox facility.

If you enjoy a role where no two days are exactly the same, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide hands-on IT support for employees, computers, laptops, printers, barcode scanners, label printers, mobile devices, production terminals, and other technology.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Windows workstations, servers, networks, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.
  • Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, user accounts, permissions, and security controls.
  • Support PLEX ERP and manufacturing systems, including production terminals, labels, scanners, transactions, reports, and user access.
  • Support shop-floor technology including production data collection, traceability, quality systems, inspection equipment, cameras, and manufacturing technology.
  • Manage employee IT onboarding and offboarding, including account access, equipment, software, and system permissions.
  • Monitor backups, assist with recovery testing, patching, cybersecurity, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Respond quickly to technology issues affecting production, shipping, receiving, quality, payroll, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, system documentation, network diagrams, licenses, equipment records, and change records.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, telecommunications providers, Corporate IT, and software support teams.
  • Help with new equipment installations, technology projects, manufacturing launches, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
  • Train employees on technology, cybersecurity, PLEX, and proper support procedures.
  • Support company requirements related to IATF 16949, cybersecurity, audits, data protection, and controlled manufacturing records.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on IT support, systems administration, networking, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • High school diploma/GED required; IT, networking, cybersecurity, or related education preferred.
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, hardware, servers, backups, printers, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills with the ability to prioritize production-critical issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Ability to work independently while partnering with Corporate IT and plant leadership.
  • Must be available for First Shift, with occasional on-call, weekend, shutdown, and emergency support.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

  • PLEX ERP / automotive manufacturing
  • IATF 16949, TISAX, cybersecurity, or ISO environments
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory / Group Policy
  • Network administration, virtualization, cloud services, and backup systems
  • Manufacturing equipment, barcode scanners, industrial printers, cameras, and shop-floor technology
  • PowerShell or IT automation
