Java Developer

TTW Solutions is seeking a Java Developer to join our dynamic team in support of a DHS mission-critical project., * Use Java development experience to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications

• Provide support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements to working solutions. This includes involvement with users to define system scope and objectives, as well as contributing to design decisions.
• Drive towards results, through communication and critical thinking
• Work on new development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design decisions
• Implement enhancements to existing system in addition to coordinating with other developers working in parallel and perform QA/testing as needed
• Experience with test driven development
• Experience/familiarity working within a Cloud environment
• Understanding and preferable experience in with DevOps Scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development

• U.S. Citizenship
• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
• Experience with Java programming language and related ecosystems
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven
• Java Web Services / Spring Boot / Java EE
• Experience in Agile development methodology
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5+ years of development experience

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

• Proven track record as a self-learner keeping current with the latest techniques to include automated code scanning, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts
• Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment
• Experience with Gitlab/GitHub
• Perform database programming and support systems design
• Design and Develop system level changes
• Interface with client on technical design
• Experience with scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to software development
• Strong written and verbal communication along with proven fluency of English
• Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility, * Java EE/Java Web Services/Spring Boot: 5 years (Required)
