Senior Cisco Network Engineer - CCNP

Join a team responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise and data center Cisco switching infrastructure. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on network engineer with deep expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, switching fabric technologies, and fiber optic connectivity within complex Cisco environments., * Assess the current LAN, data center, and perimeter network, including topology, configurations, hardware lifecycle, and operational practices.

• Find single points of failure and gaps in redundancy (HSRP/VRRP, vPC, port-channels, STP design, routing convergence).
• Evaluate security posture: segmentation, firewall-to-switch integration, management plane hardening, and Layer 2 security controls.
• Document findings in a risk-rated gap assessment report, with current-state and target-state diagrams.
• Recommend remediations and build a phased roadmap with quick wins and longer-term architecture changes.
• Present findings to IT leadership, then support or lead remediation work.

What You’ll Do

• Design, configure, deploy, and support Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching infrastructure using Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Manage switching fabric architectures including leaf-spine and core/distribution/access designs.
• Configure VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, SVIs, routed ports, and multilayer switching.
• Deploy and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
• Implement Spanning Tree, VPC, port channels, and LACP/PAGP configurations.
• Support VXLAN/EVPN overlay fabrics in modern data center environments.
• Install, validate, and troubleshoot fiber optic transceivers and connectivity across enterprise infrastructure.
• Collaborate with security teams on firewall interface connectivity and network segmentation.
• Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, documentation, and Tier 2/3 escalation support.
• Participate in change management, maintenance windows, and on-call rotation.

• 8+ years of hands-on enterprise or data center Network Engineering experience.
• Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Data Center certification.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst (3K/4K/9K) and Cisco Nexus (5K/7K/9K) switching platforms.
• Strong expertise in Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, Spanning Tree, port channels, LACP/PAGP, and VPC.
• Strong expertise in Layer 3 switching including SVIs, multilayer switching, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, and IP routing fundamentals.
• Solid hands-on experience with fiber optic networking, including SFP/SFP+/QSFP+/QSFP28 transceivers, SMF/MMF media, DOM monitoring, OTDR, and optical troubleshooting.
• Working familiarity with enterprise firewall interface connectivity and switch-to-firewall segmentation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in enterprise networking environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• VXLAN and BGP EVPN experience
• SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or similar monitoring tools
• Wireshark and SPAN/RSPAN/ERSPAN experience
• ServiceNow or similar ITSM/change management tools
• Arista EOS familiarity
