IOT LAB Test Engineer

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced 5G/4G Modem Protocol Test Engineer to join our client’s engineering team. This position will focus on supporting 5G/4G lab interoperability testing (IOT), modem validation, RF testing, protocol debugging, and test automation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with 5G NR/LTE technologies, wireless network infrastructure, modem protocol testing, and industry-standard testing equipment such as Keysight, Anritsu, or Rohde & Schwarz.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform 5G/4G lab interoperability testing (IOT) with network infrastructure vendors, including Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung.

* Support validation of new 5G/4G features using network emulators and infrastructure vendor software releases.

* Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and automated testing procedures.

* Conduct 5G NR FR1/FR2 RF testing, including NSA and SA configurations.

* Reproduce and troubleshoot customer-reported and field issues in a lab environment.

* Perform modem power consumption measurements, benchmarking, and performance analysis.

* Analyze UE and network logs to identify protocol issues and troubleshoot failures.

* Support lab, field, and certification activities, including regression testing, bug tracking, and automation.

* Collaborate with engineering teams to debug wireless protocol issues across L1, MAC, RRC, and PDCP layers.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

* 2-7 years of experience in wireless communications, modem testing, or protocol validation.

* Hands-on experience with 5G/4G LTE interoperability testing using Ericsson, Nokia, or Samsung network infrastructure.

* Strong understanding of LTE/5G NR protocol layers, including L1, MAC, RRC, and PDCP.

* In-depth knowledge of 5G NR NSA/SA, LTE, and LTE-Advanced technologies.

* 1-3 years of hands-on experience using Keysight, Anritsu, or Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) test equipment.

* Experience with mobile device protocol testing, RF validation, and data performance testing.

* Experience with UE and network log analysis, troubleshooting, and defect identification.

* Understanding of 3GPP RAN4/RAN5 test specifications, including 5G FR1/FR2 requirements.

* Familiarity with test automation, scripting, and defect tracking tools such as JIRA.

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
