Software Engineer

We have a remote contract opportunity with our client for a Senior Software Engineer to build and support AI-powered applications and platform capabilities. This role combines full-stack software development with opportunities to deliver generative AI solutions in a collaborative environment., * Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable AI platforms and applications, including generative AI solutions.

• Build and integrate frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities to support AI-powered information retrieval and generation.
• Develop accessible web applications aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA standards, incorporating accessibility into design, development, and testing.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support application testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and improve deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure with attention to performance, cost, and security.
• Apply application security and data privacy best practices.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve applications.

The ideal candidate brings strong core engineering skills, clear communication, flexibility, and a demonstrated ability to learn complex technologies. Node.js and PostgreSQL are the highest-priority technical skills, followed by AWS and Terraform., * Bachelor’s degree.

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience developing full-stack applications, including frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Strong backend development skills, with Node.js experience prioritized; Python experience is also relevant.
• Relational database experience, with PostgreSQL prioritized; MySQL experience is also relevant.
• Frontend development experience using Angular, React, or another modern framework.
• Experience with software testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and deployment processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
• Must be located in the United States and authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of product or enterprise software development experience.
• Experience with AWS and Terraform.
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Practical experience building generative AI applications and implementing RAG techniques.
• Experience implementing accessible web application features.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and application security.

Pay: From $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
