Cash Application Specialist

Carolina PRG is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company to identify an experienced Cash Application Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving payment discrepancies, and keeping customer accounts accurate and up to date.

What You’ll Do:

• Process and accurately apply daily customer payments, including ACH, wires, checks, and other payment types
• Review remittance information and apply payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, deductions, and other discrepancies
• Reconcile cash receipts and customer accounts to ensure accuracy
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to obtain missing remittance information and resolve payment issues
• Maintain accurate AR records and documentation
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and AR reporting
• Work closely with Credit & Collections, Sales, Customer Service, and other internal teams
• Identify opportunities to improve cash application processes and efficiency
• Assist with other AR and accounting responsibilities as needed

• 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, or a related accounting function
• Experience applying customer payments and resolving account discrepancies
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working with high-volume transactions and multiple priorities
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working with an ERP/accounting system
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Manufacturing, distribution, or other B2B experience is a plus
