Azure Cloud Engineer

The Lead Cloud Engineer provides strategic technical leadership for enterprise cloud initiatives, defining architectural standards and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role leads large-scale cloud migrations and modernization programs, promotes infrastructure automation and DevOps practices, and collaborates with security, networking, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions., * Cloud Architecture & Standards: Define and enforce enterprise cloud architecture standards, engineering practices, and best practices.

• Cloud Migration & Modernization: Lead large-scale cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise cloud initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with security, networking, and application teams to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
• Automation & DevOps: Drive adoption of infrastructure automation, Terraform, DevOps practices, and cloud governance frameworks.
• Azure Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Azure networking, identity, storage, and compute services.
• Monitoring & Security: Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to support monitoring, troubleshooting, and security posture management.
• Scripting & Automation: Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages.
• Hybrid Cloud Integration: Support integration between Azure cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor senior engineers and advise technology leadership on cloud architecture, modernization, and best practices.
• Cost Optimization: Support cloud cost management and FinOps initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience, Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise, and the ability to guide technical teams and influence enterprise cloud strategy., * 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering.

• 3+ years of hands-on Azure engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, identity, storage, and compute.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud and on-premises integration scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

• AZ-104: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate - highly preferred.
• AZ-305: Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• AZ-400: Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• Experience in regulated financial services environments.
• Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.

Education

University degree preferred. Candidates with 5-8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
