Design Engineer

Develop accurate, manufacturable CAD designs, composite structures, and production tooling using CATIA V5 and Fibersim. Support engineering analysis, production launches, and continuous improvement while meeting quality and schedule commitments., * CAD & Tooling Design: Develop 3D models, assemblies, surfaces, drawings, molds, jigs, fixtures, mandrels, trim tools, and bonding fixtures using CATIA V5.

• Composite Design: Develop ply definitions, orientations, stacking sequences, and laminate designs using CATIA V5 Composites Design and Fibersim.
• Engineering Analysis: Perform FEA, pressure-loading and structural calculations for manufacturing tooling, and tool cavity CTE scaling. Verify tooling integrity under operating conditions, subject to appropriate engineering review and approval.
• Additive Manufacturing: Design and optimize components and tooling for additive manufacturing, considering materials, manufacturability, and performance.
• Production Support: Support production launches, tooling qualification, troubleshooting, and improvements to quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Execution & Accountability: Independently manage assignments, provide realistic estimates, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate work with minimal supervision.
• Communication & Adaptability: Proactively communicate progress and risks, respond promptly, and adjust to changing priorities without compromising delivery.
• Productivity & Problem-Solving: Maintain focus, take initiative, and resolve challenges using available resources and technical expertise.
• Accuracy & Configuration Control: Verify designs, participate in design reviews, maintain proper CATIA structures, linked references, naming conventions, revision control, and traceability.

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years of engineering design experience in aerospace, automotive, tooling, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• CATIA V5: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with modeling, assembly, surfacing, and drafting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing design principles.
• Software: Experience with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Professional Skills: Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, time management, and ability to work independently.Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with composite ply design, CATIA V5 Composites Design, and/or Fibersim.
• Experience with production tooling design and additive manufacturing.
• Experience with FEA, pressurized tooling structural calculations, and tool cavity CTE scaling.
• Experience supporting aerospace or automotive production launches, tooling qualification, and continuous improvement.
