Job description

  • Manage the pre-studies of the servers and racks based on market needs with the support of various experts within the architecture and design teams.

  • Define concepts of the overall server perimeter including: - Power management: AC/DC and DC/DC distributions, UPS, Battery Energy Storage, PDU, … - Thermal management: CDU and in-row rack cooling, evaporative and free cooling chillers, heat reuse, …

  • Monitoring and Management

  • Networking topologies and cabling management

  • Datacenter Building: concrete and false floor, equipment, best practices

  • Size and compare these concepts by calculating the relevant KPIs and carry-out concrete pre-studies using eventually CAD or CFD tools.

  • Write and maintain the specification document describing the architecture of a project and the requirements to be fulfilled.

  • Monitor target infrastructure and emerging architectures like Open Compute initiative as well as future technologies.

  • Interact with our partners to gain knowledge of their advanced programs and participate in international conferences.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SAP HANA?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, We are seeking a senior hardware infrastructure architect to join our Platforms Architecture team; someone with a deep understanding of the full data center infrastructure stack from the power and cooling distribution to the chip level. As the energy efficiency is a critical issue for these large-scale datacenters, your expertise will be key to define with us the most optimized future server concepts that can offer the best PUE, WUE or TCO solutions to our customer.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive background and experience in design and managing critical equipment or facilities, design and operation of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, consider the costs, reliability and security constraints and oversee operational activities through delivery and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background on critical infrastructure and be passionate about delivering cutting-edge IT products., * University studies (Bac +5), PhD in engineering school or university.

  • +10 years of experience in an R&D development or systems engineering team, ideally with a computer equipment manufacturer, telecom, or complex electronic systems.

  • Deep understanding of power, cooling, networking, and construction systems.

  • Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficient data center designs.

  • Creative and rigorous, recognized for autonomy and team spirit.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders and partners.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize needs effectively.

  • Fluent written and spoken English

Our center brings together a wide range of development skills, including digital integrated circuits, fast digital cards, cooling systems, embedded software, hardware and software security solutions, and component integration for storage and AI. The Platforms Architecture team you will join is responsible for leading the architectural study of the new servers based on marketing requests and innovations from Eviden or its partners which include all IT leaders like Intel, AMD, Nvidia, ARM, Samsung and Micron.

This team has successfully defined and specified supercomputers and enterprise servers that are recognized globally.
