Network Engineer III

Located at Kirtland Air Force Base our network team works alongside the US Space Force and ensuring satellites communicate efficiently with their ground systems and are simultaneously responsible for monitoring and support of network infrastructure and virtual server environments. The network team also collaborates with the cybersecurity team to remediate deficiencies., Analyze network characteristics such as traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput Troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems Assist more senior network engineers with the installation, removal and modifications to network components Configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multivendor switches, routers, firewalls, and peripheral equipment in operational and test lab environments Operate or administer Linux and Unix systems Provide occasional after-hours operational support for network issues Apply your knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools (Solar Winds, WireShark, iPerf, etc.) to analyze network activity and problems Develop and maintain network topologies, diagrams and IP tracking

Bachelor’s degree in a science and technology related discipline with 5+ years of experience; Four years of additional experience will be accepted in lieu of education CompTIA Security+ certified Knowledge of routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP Sound knowledge of network security and control models Experience with Network Security Technologies (e.g. Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, Vulnerability Assessment) Good understanding of discipline process, information and data management, configuration control
