IT Infrastructure Deployment Technician (Temporary)

Decker IT is seeking experienced IT Infrastructure Deployment Technicians for an anticipated large-scale industrial technology deployment in the Reno-Sparks area.

This is a temporary, project-based position focused on installing and integrating enterprise IT infrastructure within a large manufacturing environment.

Selected technicians will work alongside Decker IT’s technical leadership team to deploy servers, network equipment, and supporting IT infrastructure.

We are looking for dependable, technically capable individuals who can work efficiently, follow installation standards, and deliver professional results.

This position is intended for the duration of the assigned project and does not guarantee continued employment after project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and mount enterprise servers, switches, storage systems, and related IT equipment.
• Perform rack-and-stack operations in server rooms and network closets.
• Connect and organize equipment patch cables.
• Assist with equipment installation, integration, and commissioning.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting and installation verification.
• Label and document installed equipment and connections.
• Maintain accurate equipment inventories and deployment records.
• Follow technical drawings, equipment installation instructions, and deployment procedures.
• Coordinate with project leadership and other on-site contractors.
• Maintain safe, organized, and professional work areas.
• Complete assigned deployment tasks within established project timelines., * Enterprise server installations

• Minimum 2 years of professional IT support, data center, or infrastructure deployment experience.
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware, servers, or enterprise network equipment.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts and hardware connectivity.
• Ability to follow technical documentation and installation procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and cable management.
• Ability to work independently and within a technical team.
• Ability to safely handle IT equipment using appropriate lifting assistance.
• Reliable transportation to the assigned Reno-Sparks project site.
• OSHA 10 ( required )

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center technician experience.
• Experience installing Dell, HPE, Cisco, or similar enterprise equipment.
• Rack-and-stack and server-room deployment experience.
• Familiarity with fiber-connected network equipment and patching.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise hardware deployments.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial facilities.

• Hourly Pay: $29.52-$45.00, based on experience.
• Employment Classification: Temporary W-2 employee.
• Hours: Full-time during active project deployment, subject to project scheduling and workload.
• Overtime: Paid in accordance with applicable law.
• Project Duration: Limited to the assigned project; exact duration will be communicated when confirmed.
