Job description

We are currently seeking a Helpdesk Specialist who will serve as the first line of technical support for our corporate and on-site teams. This role troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and account issues, helps administer the company’s systems and equipment, and maintains the documentation that helps our staff solve problems on their own. The goal is to keep our people productive and our systems reliable, secure, and consistent across the portfolio. We want individuals with strong troubleshooting and organizational skills, patience, and clear communication who can manage multiple requests at once. This role will be a direct contributor to the successful growth of the company., Help Desk & End-User Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for company-wide technology support, triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving helpdesk tickets remotely and in person, and escalating complex issues to the Operations Manager, Director of Technology, or outside vendors.
  • Provide user support and training across multiple software environments, including our property management software (Yardi and Entrata), Google Workspace, company phone services, and other SaaS products.

Systems, Software & Hardware

  • Assist the Director of Technology with the administration and upkeep of company systems and equipment, including user accounts, licenses, permissions, system data audits, and the setup, deployment, and retrieval of devices, while keeping IT asset inventory records accurate.
  • Support company security practices and office technology, including password resets, multi-factor authentication enrollment, reporting suspected phishing or security incidents, and troubleshooting printers, network connectivity, and Wi-Fi at company locations.
  • Assist the Director of Technology with the takeover of new sites, including setting up equipment, user accounts, phone services, and system access for newly acquired properties, with all tasks completed by the takeover date.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create and maintain helpdesk guides, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation so staff can resolve common issues on their own.
  • Independently identify recurring issues and pressure points, propose and help implement fixes, tools, or process changes that reduce support volume which improve how our teams work, in coordination with the Operations Manager and Director of Technology.

Additional Duties

  • Participate in Operations team meetings & support teammates, including flexible support during turnover season
  • Other duties as assigned

Who Thrives in This Role:

  • You enjoy being the dependable go-to person for your colleagues and take pride in seeing issues through to resolution.
  • You’re comfortable with interrupt-driven work. Priorities can shift at a moment’s notice (for example, a software error late on a Friday that keeps teams from generating leases), and you can pivot quickly, pinpoint the issue, keep everyone updated, and work with our software providers until it’s fixed.
  • You take initiative during quieter stretches, coming up with better processes, tools, and documentation and helping to put them into practice.
  • You’re energized by a growing company where portfolio, policies, standards, and practices continue to evolve.
  • You value working closely with our Operations Manager, who provides day-to-day guidance, prioritization, and mentorship alongside the Director of Technology.
