  • Preparation of materials and options for Architecture Review Board (ARB) discussions.
  • Facilitate workshops with agencies and technical teams to surface requirements, constraints, and opportunities, and translate them into practical roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience assessing disaster recovery capabilities and developing practical recovery architectures for critical enterprise services.
  • Experience defining and validating Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) in partnership with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of application and infrastructure dependencies, backup and replication strategies, recovery sequencing, failover, and failback.
  • Broad architectural knowledge of data centers, virtualization, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience designing or improving Active Directory and identity services, including authentication, privileged access, DNS, and recovery of core identity infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of network segmentation, secure remote access, perimeter security, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience evaluating legacy infrastructure and developing phased modernization roadmaps that improve security, availability, and recoverability.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices that support early issue detection and faster recovery.
  • Experience planning or facilitating disaster recovery exercises, documenting results, and tracking corrective actions.
  • Ability to develop architecture diagrams, current-state assessments, target-state designs, technical standards, and roles and responsibilities matrices (RACI).
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain technical risks, tradeoffs, and investment options to CIOs, senior leaders, and nontechnical stakeholders.
