Job description
Palo Alto Networks is one of the fastest-growing security companies in history and has been recognized as a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader multiple times for its innovation and ability to execute. Named the best place to work by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, we offer the chance to be part of an important mission: ending breaches and protecting our way of digital life. If you are a motivated, intelligent, creative, and hardworking individual, then this job may be for you!
Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NYSE: PANW), is headquartered in Santa Clara, California. In this opportunity, we are looking for an extraordinary GSOC Analyst, with a passion for protecting corporate assets, including people, property, and information. We are seeking a colleague who enjoys working independently but collaboratively in a collegial team environment within a fast-paced and dynamic company.
Responsibilities:
- Support a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) by monitoring and analyzing worldwide security threats and incidents that may impact Palo Alto Networks’ personnel, assets, and operations.
- Leverage open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media, and AI-enabled platforms (e.g., Dataminr, Everbridge, TweetDeck) to identify, assess, and escalate emerging risks in real time.
- Produce clear, actionable intelligence products, including incident reports, travel risk briefings, and event security assessments for internal security teams and, when required, senior leadership.
- Provide travel security monitoring and support using International SOS (ISOS), including tracking global travelers, issuing advisories, and responding to incidents affecting employees abroad.
- Deliver tactical intelligence support during ongoing incidents and planned corporate events, enabling timely decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Monitor geopolitical and security developments globally, with the ability to assess potential business impacts and provide recommendations to Regional Security Managers and other stakeholders.
- Actively support the ongoing development of the GSOC program by contributing to projects that enhance processes, tools, and operational effectiveness; identify gaps, recommend improvements, and share knowledge to strengthen team capabilities.
Requirements
- Experience in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), security operations, intelligence analysis, or risk management environment, preferably supporting a global corporate organization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze security risks and emerging threats across physical security, geopolitical, travel, and operational environments, and assess their potential impact.
- Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of raw, multi-source information (OSINT, social media, internal reporting) into clear, actionable intelligence products.
- Experience working with security, intelligence, travel risk, emergency management, or similar enterprise platforms such as Everbridge, Dataminr, International SOS (ISOS), or comparable technologies. Candidates should demonstrate a working understanding of platform capabilities, configurations, workflows, integrations, and limitations beyond routine day-to-day use.
- Ability to support the evaluation, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of GSOC platforms. This includes identifying opportunities to expand system capabilities, improve workflows and alerting, participate in user acceptance testing, document processes, and provide constructive feedback to vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of global geopolitical dynamics and emerging threats, with the ability to assess potential impacts to people, operations, assets, and the business.
- Ability to operate effectively in a 24/7 environment, including supporting after-hours incidents and extended-duration events as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure, including during high-tempo or crisis situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise reports and brief stakeholders at various levels, including senior leadership.
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, Crisis Management, Executive Protection, IT, Facilities, and Travel.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in ambiguous situations with evolving priorities and incomplete information.
- Understanding of security best practices, risk management principles, compliance considerations, and relevant industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required, with broad exposure to security and safety-related requirements and strong business acumen; Master’s degree preferred.
