Job description

  • Technical Support: Be the final escalation point for complex issues passed up from Level 1 and Level 2 technicians across Windows, Mac, server, cloud, and network environments. Own each issue until it is resolved and the client has been updated.
  • Network Management: Lead client network refresh projects from assessment and design through configuration, cutover, and documentation. Troubleshoot and support client networks and firewalls, including Ubiquiti, Meraki, Fortinet, Sophos, and Cisco. We recommend Ubiquiti to small clients and Fortinet to mid-sized clients.
  • Security Management: Support our clients’ security tools, respond to security alerts and incidents, and help close vulnerabilities found in reviews and assessments.
  • Systems and Cloud Administration: Maintain client Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments, on-site servers, and virtual machines. Manage devices with Intune and NinjaOne. Handle patching, monitoring, and backup and recovery.
  • Client Interaction: Give clients professional, timely, and friendly support. Listen to what they need and recommend practical technology solutions for their business.
  • Project Work: Lead migrations, rollouts, and upgrades from planning through documentation and handoff, coordinating with teammates and vendors as needed.
  • Ticketing and Documentation: Track your work and keep notes current in Autotask PSA.
  • Compliance: Support clients with HIPAA, CMMC/DFARS, PCI, and FINRA requirements by following our processes, gathering evidence, and fixing technical findings.
  • Emergency Support: Respond to critical issues outside normal hours when needed. After-hours work is limited to emergencies.
  • Training and Mentorship: Coach and mentor our junior technicians every day: guide them through tickets, review their work, and help them grow. Mentoring is a core part of this role., This role starts fully in the office at our Bedford, TX office, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central. After about six months, based on performance, you can earn the flexibility to work remotely some days. Client site visits are required as needed, so a valid driver’s license is required. After-hours work is limited to emergencies.

· Fast-paced environment focused on high-quality support for small and mid-sized business clients.

Requirements

  • Passionate about your work and eager to keep learning.
  • Trustworthy: you do what you say you will do and own your mistakes.
  • Self-driven: you set your own priorities and move on to the next task without being told.
  • Calm, patient, and positive with frustrated users. This role is customer facing and attitude is essential., * Communication & Customer Service: Excellent verbal and written communication. You can explain technical issues in plain language to non-technical clients. Must be fluent in English.
  • Experience & Education: At least 5 years in IT support, including at least 2 years in an MSP environment and experience independently resolving escalated issues. The title matters less than the work you have done. A degree is not required. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Cloud+, or CCNA are nice to have, not required, and we pay for certification training.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, virtual machines (Hyper-V or VMware), and both Windows and Mac endpoints.
  • Networking: Strong, hands-on networking experience. You have designed and deployed network refreshes, including firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi, on some of Ubiquiti, Meraki, Fortinet, Sophos, or Cisco, and you understand TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP well enough to troubleshoot without a guide.
  • Security: Practical security experience, such as endpoint protection, email security, multi-factor authentication, and responding to security alerts.
  • RMM & Ticketing Systems: Hands-on experience with an RMM platform (NinjaOne preferred) and a ticketing or PSA system (Autotask preferred).
  • Documentation & Process Management: Keep clear, current documentation of your fixes and projects in IT Glue so the team can reuse them, and follow standard processes.
  • Self-Driven Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills. You manage your own priorities, pick up the next task without being told, and keep clients and teammates informed without being chased.
  • Cloud Services: Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID, Intune) and experience migrating clients to the cloud. Google Workspace, Azure, or AWS experience is a plus.
  • Automation: Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred) to automate repetitive tasks is a plus., * Do you have at least 5 years of IT support experience?
  • Do you have at least 2 years of experience working at a managed service provider (MSP)?
  • Have you personally led a network refresh (replacing firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi at a client site)?
  • This role is in our Bedford, TX office, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Central. Can you work on site every day?, * Are you legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship?
  • Do you have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client site visits?
