Cybersecurity Network Engineer

We’re partnering with a well-established, privately held manufacturing company in the western suburbs of Chicago looking for a Cybersecurity & Network Engineer who wants to make a real impact.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you’ll work across cybersecurity, network infrastructure, Microsoft cloud security, vulnerability management, compliance, and OT/manufacturing environments. ? What You’ll Own

• Secure and improve networks, servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications
• Manage and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN, and wireless networks
• Monitor security alerts, vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and potential incidents
• Support EDR, SIEM, identity security, vulnerability management, Zero Trust, and network segmentation
• Strengthen security across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, SharePoint, MFA, and Conditional Access
• Drive vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts
• Support cybersecurity compliance initiatives involving NIST, CMMC 2.0, and CIS Controls
• Assist with security audits, vendor risk assessments, and customer security requirements
• Partner with IT and Software Development teams to improve application and infrastructure security
• Help protect both traditional IT and operational technology (OT) environments, This is a chance to join a stable, established organization supporting highly technical products and environments while having real ownership and visibility across the security landscape.

You won’t be limited to monitoring dashboards all day. You’ll have the opportunity to engineer, secure, troubleshoot, improve, and influence the company’s overall security posture.

• 3-5+ years of cybersecurity, network engineering, or IT infrastructure experience
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls
• Hands-on enterprise networking and network-security troubleshooting experience
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and/or SharePoint
• Understanding of vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and incident response
• Familiarity with NIST, CMMC 2.0, and/or CIS Controls
• Someone comfortable working independently while collaborating across technical and business teams

? Big Plus If You Have

• Cisco, Meraki, SonicWall or similar networking/firewall experience
• Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Intune, CrowdStrike or comparable security tools
• Cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure experience
• Manufacturing, industrial networking, or OT security exposure
• SIEM and vulnerability-scanning experience
• PowerShell, Python, or security automation skills
• Security+, CCNA/CCNP, CISA, Microsoft Azure/Security, or similar certifications
