Job description

You will join the Infra team and work on the hosting and operations of Skaleet’s Cloud platforms across all clients, as well as common infrastructure services (RabbitMQ, Vault, Redis, logs…), in close collaboration with our software development and security teams.

The first 6 months will be focused on ramp-up and operational ownership. From there, you’ll be fully autonomous on the vast majority of topics - including our ongoing strategic migration from VMware/vSphere to Kubernetes.

Your future missions

Operational Maintenance

  • Ensure high availability of ~450 VMs across 3 OVH datacenters (Roubaix, Strasbourg, Frankfurt) and 3 Kubernetes clusters (~20 nodes).
  • Monitor infrastructure and qualify incidents escalated by support teams.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Automate and improve application deployments and system updates using Ansible and Rundeck - Ansible covers our entire infrastructure, this is the core of the role.
  • Provide tooling to support and other teams to make them autonomous on deployments without breaking production.

Strategic Migration: VMware Kubernetes

  • This is the team’s main ongoing project. Newer product modules (credit, savings) already run on Kubernetes.
  • Objective: build a new Kubernetes-native platform for new clients, then migrate existing platforms progressively.
  • Network knowledge is a strong plus - legacy VMware configurations are complex and sometimes undocumented.

Monitoring & Alerting

  • Develop and improve service monitoring tools (ELK stack: Elasticsearch + Kibana, Site24x7).
  • Enhance our status page and automate alert creation.

CI/CD & Continuous Deployment

  • In collaboration with development teams, improve build and release tooling (GitLab CI) to move toward continuous deployment.

Level 3 Support

  • Act as the last escalation point for infrastructure-related issues raised by developers and project managers.
  • ~60% of the work is unplanned - troubleshooting, ad hoc fixes, cross-team unblocking. Autonomy and initiative are key.

ļø Tech Stack

  • Infrastructure (OVH Cloud) > VMware/vSphere (~450 VMs, 5 DCs) Ā· Kubernetes with Helm (3 clusters, ~20 nodes)
  • Automation > Ansible Ā· Rundeck Ā· GitLab CI
  • System > Debian Ā· Apache Ā· PHP Ā· MySQL Ā· MariaDB Ā· PostgreSQL Ā· NodeJS
  • Monitoring > Elasticsearch Ā· Kibana Ā· Site24x7
  • High Availability > RabbitMQ Ā· Vault Ā· ProxySQL Ā· Redis

Requirements

Do you have experience in vSphere?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * 4-5 years minimum experience as a DevOps Engineer or SRE.

  • Education: Master’s degree from a top-tier engineering school.
  • Proven experience in a SaaS production environment with high criticality - you’ve been responsible for services that cannot go down.
  • Ansible: you write playbooks from scratch, not just read them - our entire infrastructure runs on Ansible.
  • Kubernetes in production: you’ve managed clusters, not just deployed to them.
  • Strong Linux/Debian environment knowledge.

Nice to Have

  • Network knowledge (firewalls, routing) - a strong plus for the VMware migration.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash).
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • VMware/vSphere knowledge.
  • Redis, PostgreSQL experience.

Benefits & conditions

  • Autonomous - you don’t wait for a ticket to fix something you see.
  • Comfortable in a complex, multi-tenant environment (50+ client platforms, each unique).
  • At ease working with remote colleagues Pragmatic and curious - not looking to challenge every architectural decision, but always looking to improve.

The benefits of joining Skaleet

  • 25 days of paid vacation and 12 additional days off (RTT) per year.
  • The perfect health insurance : Alan Blue
  • Lunch Matters: We provide a Swile card to cover your meals
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and strong team spirit
  • Beautiful brand-new offices located in Boulogne-Billancourt, right next to Metro Line 10.

[Recruitment Process]

  • Video call with Maxime, Human Ressources Manager (30 min).
  • Technical interview with Jonathan and a team member - deep dive into the role and your experience (60 min).
  • Final meeting in Boulogne with Geoffroy ( General Secretary) (60 min).

We look forward to discovering your profile !
