Job description

ArgonDigital is seeking a Solution Architect with a strong data background to help clients get more value from data across complex, multi-application ecosystems. You’ll assess how data moves between systems such as web and mobile apps, commerce platforms, reservation and point-of-sale systems, CRMs, ERPs, and analytics tools, then set practical, standards-based approaches to data architecture, governance, and integration, and see them through to adoption.

The role is both advisory and hands-on. You brief client executives in plain language, and you set the standards, review designs, and own the reference architecture that in-house and contractor teams build against. Expect the mix to start advisory and grow more hands-on over time. You may also serve as a solution consultant across multiple ArgonDigital accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the trusted data and solution architecture advisor to client leadership, including non-technical executives, and technical teams
  • Assess current-state application and data landscapes: systems of record, data flows, integrations, ownership, pipeline health, and technical debt
  • Rationalize legacy platforms: retire abandoned pipelines and environments, consolidate orchestration, and set observability and service levels
  • Define target-state data and information architecture, including data models, identity resolution, master data strategy, and system-of-record decisions
  • Design and standup fit-for-purpose data governance: stewardship, decision rights, a shared KPI glossary, and practical controls for quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and security, with or without a catalog tool
  • Set integration patterns (APIs, event-driven, batch ETL/ELT, iPaaS, warehouse-centric hub) for moving data reliably between applications, including reconciliation where systems sync one way
  • Use AI tools daily to accelerate discovery, profiling, modeling, documentation, and prototyping; define how AI assistants and agents consume governed data (semantic layer, connectors, policy enforcement); and guide clients on responsible adoption
  • Set engineering standards (naming, modeling, testing, CI/CD, documentation) and run design reviews so in-house, contractor, and offshore teams build to them
  • Build phased roadmaps tied to business outcomes and team capacity; run proofs of concept and vendor evaluations with pass/fail criteria; deliver build-versus-buy recommendations, platform cost counsel, and the business case behind funding requests
  • Translate technical concepts into clear recommendations for executives and non-technical stakeholders
  • Apply ArgonDigital’s requirements and modeling methodology: run structured elicitation, turn vague asks into backlog-ready epics and stories, and guide delivery teams on architecture direction
  • Support sales with needs elicitation, solution shaping, and high-level estimates while balancing multiple clients

Requirements

  • 8+ years in data architecture, solution architecture, or data engineering, including 3+ years client-facing or advisory
  • Demonstrable proficiency across the Technical Skillset below
  • Comfortable using AI tools to develop and validate solutions, with sound judgment in checking their output
  • Track record as a trusted technical advisor who influences decisions without direct authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear architecture diagrams and executive-ready summaries a non-technical executive can act on
  • Experience with modernizing a legacy data platform (for example, moving custom or batch orchestration to modern ELT), ideally as the architect or a core contributor
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
