Job description

Install, configure, patch and upgrade enterprise SQL Server (on-prem and Azure)
- Performance monitoring and tuning: indexes, queries, blocking, deadlocks
- Backup/recovery and HA/DR: Always On, log shipping, failover clusters, replication
- Administer Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure VMs; on-prem to Azure migrations
- Security and compliance with role-based access control (RBAC)
- Developer support and code review; T-SQL and PowerShell automation; documentation
- Tier III escalation, mentoring; possible 24/7 DR/incident-response duty

Requirements

5+ years hands-on enterprise MS SQL Server (on-prem and Azure)
- 5+ years performance tuning, security/RBAC, developer support and code review
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- SSMS, advanced T-SQL, SSIS/ETL, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure Backup, Redgate or similar
- Must pass a background/fingerprint check
