GIS Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a GIS Analyst for a top utility client in the Sacramento area. This individual will serve as a key contributor to the organization’s Enterprise GIS environment, supporting the maintenance and enhancement of critical infrastructure data across water and land facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong GIS technical background combined with leadership experience, leveraging ESRI technologies, database management, and scripting skills to improve system functionality and data integrity. This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, vendors, and operational teams to deliver mapping solutions, perform advanced spatial analysis, establish GIS standards, and provide technical guidance to users throughout the organization. • 3+ years of GIS design, operations, and automated mapping systems experience
• 2+ years in a lead role providing technical/functional supervision
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field ? OR 4 additional years of qualifying experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with ESRI-based GIS software and applications like ArchGIS
• Database experience with SQL
• Experience with scripting/programming (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Utility or water district industry experience
• Enterprise GIS administration experience
• Experience integrating GIS with other business systems
• Experience developing GIS standards, protocols, and training materials
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/CAD principles and mapping standards
