Routing Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Routing Specialist to optimize transportation and logistics operations across our supply chain network. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving routing strategies to ensure efficient delivery schedules, cost savings, and high service levels. Your expertise in transportation management systems, data analytics, and supply chain processes will drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall operational performance. • Analyze transportation data utilizing SQL, Excel data analysis, Tableau, and data visualization software to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis on transportation issues, including delays or freight damages, to develop effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics management, warehouse operations, demand planning, and 3PL providers to coordinate transportation activities.
• Monitor road transportation operations ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards while maintaining high service levels.
• Utilize data mining and supply chain analytics tools to support demand planning, freight optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of inbound/outbound shipments, transportation costs, and performance metrics within ERP systems such as AS400 or Oracle TMS.

• Proven experience in supply chain management with a focus on transportation planning or logistics management.
• Strong technical proficiency with data analytics tools including SQL, Tableau, Excel (including advanced data analysis), and data visualization software.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management, SAP ERP, Road Transportation Operations platforms, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Knowledge of freight processes, 3PL coordination, demand planning, and logistics optimization strategies.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis using data mining techniques to identify issues and implement process improvements.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and external partners.
• Experience working with ERP systems like SAP ERP or AS400 is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of supply chain analytics, transportation management systems (TMS), and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean.
• Demonstrated ability in research and business analysis related to logistics operations.
