Job description
A growing enterprise organization is looking for a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to help drive a major modernization initiative across its infrastructure environment. This person will play a key role in transitioning critical workloads from a traditional on-premises environment into Microsoft Azure, while helping establish the architecture, connectivity, automation, and operational standards needed to support a long-term cloud strategy.
This is a hands-on engineering position suited for someone who can operate independently, solve complex infrastructure problems, and take ownership of projects from initial design through implementation and production support. The ideal candidate brings strong Azure expertise along with a deep understanding of traditional infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and hybrid environments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning and execution of on-premises to Azure migrations, including infrastructure assessment, dependency mapping, testing, cutover, and post-migration support.
- Design and implement scalable Azure infrastructure and hybrid-cloud solutions across compute, storage, networking, security, and connectivity.
- Develop and execute cloud migration strategies for virtualized workloads and enterprise infrastructure.
- Lead initiatives involving Azure networking, ExpressRoute, connectivity, routing, DNS, firewalls, and hybrid environments.
- Support cloud security and application connectivity initiatives, including technologies such as Zscaler.
- Build and improve infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, or similar technologies.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning Azure, networking, virtualization, Windows infrastructure, storage, and interconnected enterprise systems.
- Participate in infrastructure integration efforts associated with organizational growth, acquisitions, or consolidation of technology environments.
- Work closely with data center, application, security, and other technology teams to identify dependencies and coordinate successful implementations.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to internal infrastructure teams.
- Help establish best practices for the ongoing management and governance of the Azure environment.
- Take ownership of assigned infrastructure projects and drive them through design, implementation, testing, and operational handoff.
Key Initiatives The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to several high-impact infrastructure initiatives, including:
- Data center modernization and migration to Azure
- Azure architecture and cloud migration strategy
- Azure networking and ExpressRoute implementation
- Cloud application publishing and connectivity initiatives

- Strong understanding of Azure architecture, networking, compute, storage, security, and hybrid connectivity.
- Solid infrastructure background spanning virtualization, Windows Server, networking, storage, and enterprise systems.
- Experience with cloud migration planning, workload assessment, dependency analysis, testing, and production cutovers.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across complex infrastructure environments.
- Experience with PowerShell and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
- Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity.
