Job description

Our culture is built on integrity, teamwork, and growth. We believe that when our team members succeed, our clients succeed. As a Security Systems Integration Technician, you’ll be the one who takes installed hardware and turns it into a fully working, integrated system - programming, configuring, and commissioning the systems our clients depend on every day.

If you’re a low voltage security professional who takes pride in getting a system dialed in right - clean install, proper integration, correct programming - we’d love to talk.

Role Summary

The Security Systems Integration Technician is responsible for the installation, integration, and programming of low voltage security systems, with a primary focus on access control and video surveillance. This role covers the full lifecycle of a system - running and terminating cabling, mounting and wiring devices, integrating hardware into platforms, and programming systems to spec - along with remote support and troubleshooting for existing service contract customers. You’ll work closely with field technicians, the Project Manager, and clients to ensure systems are installed correctly, integrated properly, and running reliably.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling for access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems.
  • Mount, wire, and install security devices - cameras, card readers, controllers, door contacts, motion detectors, and related field hardware.
  • Integrate and program access control systems - controllers, panels, credentials, schedules, and integrations (Brivo, Kantech, and similar platforms).
  • Integrate and program IP video surveillance systems, including camera setup, VMS/NVR configuration, and EagleEye cloud video platform setup.
  • Configure networking infrastructure supporting security systems - switches, VLANs, PoE, and IP addressing as needed for integration.
  • Provide remote support and troubleshooting for active service contract customers - diagnosing and resolving system, device, and connectivity issues.
  • Coordinate with field technicians during installs to ensure systems are properly integrated, tested, and handed off.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, device inventories, and client-specific setups.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and punch-list closeout.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, field technicians, and the FIS office team.
  • Escalate and coordinate warranty or manufacturer support issues as needed.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone hands-on and technically sharp who takes ownership of the install and integration process from start to finish - someone who’s comfortable pulling cable and mounting hardware just as much as programming and commissioning the finished system., 3+ years of experience installing, integrating, and/or programming low voltage security systems, or a related technical field role.

  • Hands-on experience installing and terminating low voltage cabling for security systems.
  • Hands-on experience installing and integrating access control platforms (Brivo, Kantech, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience installing, integrating, and programming IP video surveillance and VMS/NVR platforms; EagleEye experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking as it relates to system integration - VLANs, switches, PoE, and IP addressing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Comfortable providing remote technical support and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues methodically, both on-site and remotely.
  • Clear written and verbal communication - able to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
  • Comfortable using hand/power tools, meters, and testing equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check.

Nice-to-Have

  • Manufacturer certifications: Brivo, Kantech, DSC, Qolsys, Digital Watchdog, Control4, HID, Bosch, Honeywell, Software House, Genetec, etc.
  • Experience with EagleEye Networks cloud video platform.
  • Networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar).
  • Experience with PSA/ticketing platforms (Rev.io, BuildOps, or similar).
  • Familiarity with low-voltage field installation practices - helpful for coordinating with field teams, though not required.

Benefits & conditions

  • Pay: $30-50/hr, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Company laptop/equipment provided; phone allowance.
  • Full benefits package, including:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
