Job description

You will lead the organization’s IT systems, manage the SaaS and device stack, and run the help desk to keep daily operations running smoothly. You will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, business units) to align IT systems with operational needs. Onsite in Santa Barbara, CA.

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact on the Team

  • Implement, configure, and administer the IT management platform (identity, device management, software deployment, asset tracking).
  • Provision and deprovision employee accounts, manage SSO and MFA, and maintain role-based permissions and application integrations.
  • Build and maintain automated onboarding/offboarding and access workflows; create and maintain documentation and a knowledge base.
  • Own device lifecycle: procurement, setup, OS updates, security configuration, encryption, inventory and secure retrieval.
  • Run the help desk: troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, printing and email issues; communicate outages and known issues.
  • Administer Google Workspace, Slack and other SaaS tools; manage vendor relationships and monitor service levels.
  • Evaluate new tools for cost, security and usability; support procurement, renewals and contract reviews.
  • Manage office network infrastructure (UniFi): switches, wireless, firewalls, VPN, conference AV and building access systems.
  • Define and enforce security policies, run security awareness/phishing training, handle incidents and support audits and cyber insurance requirements.
  • Build and maintain internal dashboards, calculators and micro-apps using AI-assisted development tools; ship and maintain solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in IT support, systems administration or IT operations, including running a help desk.
  • Experience implementing and administering an IT management platform (e.g., Rippling IT) with SSO, device management and automated provisioning workflows.
  • Google Workspace administration and experience with SaaS platforms (Shopify, Slack, HubSpot or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Python or a similar scripting language; comfort with APIs, webhooks and automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n or Shopify Flow).
  • Working proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools and a bias toward shipping and iterating.
  • Working knowledge of security fundamentals and office networking (least-privilege access, secrets management, MFA, data classification, UniFi or similar).
  • Strong written communication skills and patience supporting non-technical staff.
