Job description

Demand for new features has outgrown what our current team can ship, so we’re moving quickly on this hire. You’d be the third developer on the team, which means your work is visible immediately and you’ll have real influence over how things get built.

Most of our platform was built with AI coding agents, and that’s how we keep shipping fast. We need someone who is extremely proficient with AI-assisted development: you can keep several agents productive at once, give them specs they can actually follow, and catch what they get wrong before it reaches a clinic. Speed with AI matters here, and so does knowing when not to trust it.

The work splits between two areas: internal systems our sales team depends on, and the product vet clinics use every day, including the AI inside it. You’ll touch both.

This role is open to developers with roughly 1-5 years of professional experience. We care more about how you think, how fast you pick things up, and how well you build with AI than about a specific number of years.

What you’ll do

  • Build and ship features end to end with AI coding agents (Claude Code is our daily driver), from React/Next.js UI to Postgres and edge functions

  • Work across the clinic side of the product: scheduling, patient charts, pharmacy, labs, and checkout

  • Run agent sessions in parallel, each with a clear spec, and review everything they produce before it ships

  • Test and harden AI-written code for security, data integrity, and performance. We handle patient records and payments, so this matters.

  • Help build the AI in our product: the voice receptionist, AI-assisted charting, and an in-app assistant for clinic staff

  • Develop and improve the internal tools our sales team runs on - dashboards, workflows, reporting, integrations

  • Deploy and monitor your own work on Vercel and Supabase, and fix what breaks

  • Sit down with the sales team, figure out what they actually need, then build it

Requirements

Extremely proficient with AI coding tools: you use Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agents every day and can show us exactly how you work

  • Strong enough fundamentals to know when the AI is wrong: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SQL, and auth

  • 1+ years of professional experience building web applications (internships and substantial side projects count)

  • Comfort with Git and a pull request workflow

  • Clear communication, and a habit of asking questions early rather than getting stuck quietly

  • Comfortable with shifting priorities - on a three-person team, this week’s plan sometimes changes

  • Able to work on-site in Provo, UT

Nice to have

  • Veterinary or healthcare software experience, or time spent working in a vet clinic

  • Next.js App Router (server components, server actions) and Vercel deployments

  • Supabase: Postgres, row-level security, edge functions

  • Building with LLM APIs, voice AI, or MCP

  • Stripe, Twilio, or other third-party API integrations

  • Tailwind CSS

  • Testing with Jest, Vitest, or Playwright

  • Experience building internal tools or CRM/sales integrations

  • Startup or small-team experience

Benefits & conditions

$50,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Unlimited PTO

  • A real say in technical decisions and the tools we use

  • Short feedback loops: what you build goes live in days, not quarters

  • Direct access to the people making product and business decisions
