Working cross-functionally with engineering, software, validation, quality, and program teams, this individual will perform vehicle-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, software validation, and systems integration activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong electrical diagnostics experience and a passion for improving vehicle performance, operability, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis on vehicle electrical, electronic, and software-related issues.
  • Collect, analyze, document, and communicate technical data to support issue resolution efforts.
  • Coordinate with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure timely corrective actions and implementation of solutions.
  • Support vehicle validation activities, software releases, and approval of software baselines.
  • Conduct vehicle-level testing and verification of electrical/electronic systems functionality.
  • Participate in issue management meetings and provide technical recommendations regarding vehicle operability, compatibility, and readiness.
  • Support software update deployments and verification activities on development and production-intent vehicles.
  • Assist with the build, configuration, and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic test environments and prototype systems.
  • Develop and maintain project status reports, issue trackers, exception lists, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in vehicle readiness reviews, including assessments of system maturity, known issues, compatibility concerns, and workaround strategies.
  • Mentor and train junior team members on diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting methodologies, and best practices.
  • Recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies to enhance vehicle quality and validation effectiveness.
  • Support domestic and international testing activities as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 3-7 years of experience working with electrical/electronic systems, vehicle development, or systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical architecture and vehicle electronic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting vehicle systems and performing root cause analysis in laboratory, development, or field environments.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and electrical test equipment, including:
  • Digital Multimeters
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Current Probes
  • CAN Diagnostic Tools
  • CDA / Dianalyzer or similar tools
  • Familiarity with software validation, system integration, and vehicle testing processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently driving issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to operate and evaluate test vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license for heavy-duty vehicle testing.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAN networks and Vector tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, and CAN Diagnostic tools.
  • Advanced experience using electrical debug and measurement equipment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vehicle-level and subsystem-level diagnostics, troubleshooting, and circuit analysis.
  • Knowledge of:
  • ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • Electrified Powertrains (EV/Hybrid)
  • Connected Vehicle Technologies
  • Infotainment Systems
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI)
