Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Developer to join a major Government programme delivering secure, cloud-native digital services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience building scalable Java applications within AWS environments and will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing microservices-based solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Experience delivering solutions within AWS cloud environments
- Proven experience building and supporting microservices architectures
- Strong understanding of secure software development practices
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Previous experience delivering projects within Government or Public Sector organisations
Knowledge of AWS services such as:
- ECS/EKS
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- S3
- RDS
- CloudWatch
- IAM
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber, working alongside QA teams.
- Experience of GDS-aligned delivery programmes
- AWS certifications
