Job description

  • We are seeking an experienced AVEVA MES Resource to support, enhance, and maintain our Manufacturing Execution System environment.
  • This role requires strong hands-on knowledge of AVEVA MES, including system architecture, SAP ECC integrations, MES dashboards and reporting, and database/table configuration within an existing system.
  • The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, IT, automation, and business teams to deliver reliable MES solutions that improve production visibility, traceability, and operational performance.
  • The resource would work along side of Aveva’s Professional Services group and SGS.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the design, configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the AVEVA MES platform.
  • Understand and support the overall MES system architecture, including application layers, interfaces, database structures, and connectivity with plant-floor and enterprise systems.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations between AVEVA MES and SAP ECC, including production orders, material data, confirmations, genealogy, and transactional data flows.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance MES dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting to improve visibility into manufacturing performance.
  • Configure and extend the existing MES solution, including the ability to add new database tables and support related data structures while preserving system integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable MES solutions.
  • Support interface validation, system testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities.
  • Investigate system issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely resolution for application, data, and integration-related problems.
  • Ensure solutions follow site and enterprise standards for data integrity, validation, security, and change control.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface mappings, configuration documents, and support procedures.
  • Provide operational support and knowledge transfer to internal teams and end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience working with AVEVA MES in a manufacturing environment, process industry and packaging lines.
  • Strong understanding of MES system architecture, including application components, database relationships, and integration points.
  • Experience with SAP ECC integration in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience developing or supporting MES dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including the ability to add and modify database tables in an existing MES system.
  • Experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and support in a validated or controlled production environment.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, and Automation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with manufacturing operations, batch and continuous processes, or discrete production environments.
  • Familiarity with shop-floor systems, PLC or SCADA historians, and enterprise application integration patterns.
  • Experience with change management, release management, and production support processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing data models, genealogy, traceability, and electronic records.
  • Exposure to reporting or BI tools used alongside MES dashboards.
  • Knowledge of software validation, audit readiness, and regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
