Job description

  • Perform classical and finite element analyses (FEA), including:
  • Linear and nonlinear static analysis
  • Modal analysis
  • Frequency response analysis
  • Random vibration analysis
  • Explicit and implicit transient analysis
  • Evaluate structural integrity for failure modes including:
  • Static strength
  • Fatigue
  • Fracture mechanics
  • Buckling and stability
  • Creep
  • Analyze mechanical joints, weldments, and fastened connections.
  • Support product development teams throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, presentations, and certification documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Assist with fatigue-life assessments and fracture control evaluations.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment, assumptions, and simplifications to solve complex structural problems.
  • Document analysis methodologies, assumptions, and results to support hardware qualification and certification.

Requirements

Do you have experience in FEA?, Do you have a Bachelor of Science?, Education: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, We are seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to perform advanced structural analyses of complex hardware and engineered systems. This role will support the design, verification, testing, and certification of high-performance components used in demanding operational environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive finite element analysis (FEA) experience, strong analytical skills, and recent hands-on expertise with LS-DYNA., * BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 10-15+ years of structural analysis experience.
  • 3-5 years of recent LS-DYNA experience within the past five years (required).
  • Strong background in finite element analysis and classical hand calculations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with commercial CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications including NASA, AIAA, API, ASME, DNV, or equivalent.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-20 years of experience using structural analysis tools such as:
  • FEMAP
  • NASTRAN
  • NASGRO
  • ANSYS
  • LS-DYNA
  • Mathcad
  • Experience utilizing classical engineering references including:
  • Bruhn’s Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures
  • Roark’s Formulas for Stress and Strain
  • Peterson’s Stress Concentration Factors
  • Machinery’s Handbook
  • Experience with scripting, automation, and APIs using VBA, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing products involving:
  • Metallic structures in the plastic regime
  • Fabrics
  • Polymers
  • Composite materials
  • Direct experience supporting aerospace or NASA-related hardware programs.
