Job description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Resilience Architect to join our consulting practice, supporting clients in designing, engineering and hardening resilient technology environments. This role is grounded in deep technical capability across multi-cloud architecture combined with the client-facing skills needed to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

You will lead the design of resilient, secure and scalable architectures, define technical recovery strategies and guide clients in assessing and uplifting their resilience posture

Responsibilities:

Design and lead resilient enterprise architecture across multi-cloud environments ensuring secure, scalable and highly available environment design

Lead technical recovery planning and execution for scenarios including ransomware recovery and cyber incident recovery playbooks

Lead resilient architecture design and assessments, defining controls and recommending technical and operational solutions to close resilience gaps

Define and deliver resilience uplift programmes, including technical roadmap development, architecture remediation and prioritisation

Define technical, non-functional, security and operational requirements in collaboration with client engineering and architecture teams

Lead development of technology blueprints and transition architectures across all IT domains, supporting large-scale resilience and infrastructure transformation

Provide expertise across infrastructure resilience controls, cloud resilience design, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR)

Facilitate technical workshops and working sessions with client engineering, operations and architecture teams

Advise senior programme stakeholders on technical risk and trade-offs, translating complex engineering issues into clear business decisions

Produce high-quality technical deliverables (architecture designs, recovery playbooks, blueprints, and executive briefings)

Communicate effectively with senior leadership, risk and regulatory stakeholders on technical resilience posture

Contribute to bids and proposals, bringing technical credibility and real-world delivery insight

Champion technical resilience best practices across client organisations and internally within the consulting practice

Requirements

Strong technical architecture background with hands-on experience designing resilient, secure and scalable multi-cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)

Demonstrable experience leading technical cyber recovery capability, including ransomware recovery, isolated recovery environments and immutable backup design

Understanding of infrastructure as code concepts (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK) and configuration management principles, with exposure to CI/CD and cloud automation tooling (e.g. AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Understanding of the current vendor marketplace for resilience and recovery solutions, including recovery orchestration platforms, vaulting/cyber vault providers, and backup and recovery toolsets.

Hands-on experience with BCP and DR frameworks, testing, and execution

Understanding of enterprise architecture and business process design within infrastructure or hosting domains

Ability to lead architecture assessments, define controls, and recommend practical technical solutions

Ability to: navigate and structure complex, ambiguous technical problems; work across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities; translate technical detail into clear, business-focused insights

Strong communication and storytelling skills, particularly for senior and non-technical audiences

Comprehensive understanding of UK and EU financial services resilience regulations, including PRA/FCA Operational Resilience requirements, CMORG guidance, DORA, and oversight of critical third parties.

Desirable

Experience within Financial Services, including: Important Business Services (IBS); Impact Tolerances (ITOL); DORA, PRA/FCA Operational Resilience, CMORG, and CTP oversight

Multi-cloud certification (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)

Experience working in a client-facing consulting role is highly advantageous
