L2 Data Center Technician role in Reno Nevada

We are seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician with strong hands-on experience in server hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, hardware replacement, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day data center operations and work closely with network and system administrators to maintain server and network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack activities for servers and network switches.

• Install, replace, and reroute Ethernet and fiber-optic cables.

• Configure and troubleshoot Dell iDRAC and HPE iLO.

• Diagnose server hardware issues and replace components such as RAM, CPUs, drives, and other hardware.

• Replace network optics and assist with server and switch connectivity troubleshooting.

• Perform approved server firmware upgrades and basic configuration tasks.

• Support Windows Server and Linux environments with basic administration and troubleshooting.

• Maintain hardware inventory, coordinate replacement parts, and manage defective hardware returns.

• Follow approved wiring diagrams, operational procedures, and hardware installation standards.

• Hands-on experience working in a data center environment.

• Strong knowledge of rack and stack, server installation, and structured cabling.

• Experience with Dell iDRAC and/or HPE iLO.

• Practical experience with server hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.

• Basic administration knowledge of Windows Server or Linux.

• Ability to work onsite and collaborate with remote network and system administration teams.

Important Requirements: Candidates must be comfortable working the specified overnight schedule and reporting onsite in Reno, NV.
