Systems Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to support and strengthen a complex enterprise technology environment in the Willmar, Minnesota area. This position focuses on infrastructure design, platform reliability, security, and long-term modernization across core systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge across Microsoft ecosystems, virtualization, and cloud services, along with the ability to improve operational efficiency through automation.

Responsibilities:

Shape and maintain infrastructure standards that support stability, scalability, and secure operations across enterprise systems.

Design, administer, and optimize server, virtualization, and network environments to meet performance and availability goals.

Lead improvements in cloud-enabled infrastructure, with a focus on Azure-based solutions and practical modernization efforts.

Manage core Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and endpoint administration tools.

Develop and enhance automation using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python to streamline recurring operational tasks.

Oversee patching, system updates, and platform maintenance activities to reduce risk and maintain compliance.

Partner with technical stakeholders to evaluate infrastructure needs, recommend architecture decisions, and implement resilient solutions.

Support security-focused engineering practices by strengthening access controls, system hardening, and enterprise platform govern

7+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical role. Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, including networking, security, and systems architecture. Advanced hands-on experience with VMware and Microsoft Windows Server environments. Proven expertise with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint. Experience administering server platforms and enterprise collaboration technologies in large-scale environments. Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Python, or both. Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, with Azure preferred. Must be based within the organization’s required regional area; a hybrid schedule with one day onsite per week is preferred, with remote consideration for the right candidate., All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
