AI Application Platform Engineer in United

This role will work closely with a complementary Azure Application Platform & DevSecOps Engineer. Together, these engineers will design and build a “system that builds systems.”, The successful candidate will understand traditional software engineering well enough to determine which parts of the development lifecycle can safely be automated, abstracted, or delegated to AI-and which cannot., · Design and develop modern web applications using appropriate JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and supporting technologies.

· Significant professional full-stack software-development experience.

\n

· Strong experience with modern web application development and API design.

\n

· Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript experience and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React.

\n

· Practical experience using generative AI and AI-assisted software-development tools.

\n

· Demonstrable understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, context management, structured prompting, and tool/function calling.

\n

· Strong understanding of application architecture, data modeling, APIs, authentication, authorization, testing, and software-design principles.

\n

· Experience with Git-based source control and modern CI/CD practices.

\n

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

\n

· Practical understanding of Agile software-development methodologies.

\n

· Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical solutions.

\n

· Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

\n

· Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with another senior engineer across overlapping areas of responsibility., n

· Experience with Azure OpenAI or comparable enterprise generative-AI platforms.

\n

· Experience designing agentic applications or multi-agent workflows.

\n

· Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, Dataverse, or related low-code technologies.

\n

· Experience with Azure DevOps.

\n

· Experience creating reusable application frameworks, internal developer platforms, scaffolding systems, or code- tools.

\n

· Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and enterprise authentication patterns.

\n

· Experience working within regulated, healthcare, financial, or other security-conscious enterprise environments.

· Develop reusable front-end components, APIs, services, templates, application shells, and architectural patterns.

\n

· Design practical relational and non-relational data structures appropriate to generated applications.

\n

· Build reusable application capabilities for authentication, authorization, configuration, logging, error handling, notifications, and other common enterprise requirements.

\n

· Create application scaffolding that allows generated solutions to begin from approved architectural patterns rather than unrestricted blank-slate code .

\n

· Ensure generated applications remain understandable, maintainable, testable, and transferable to professional engineering teams when required.

Business-to-Application Translation

\n

· Help design conversational experiences that allow business users to describe problems in their own rather than in software-development terminology.

\n

· Build mechanisms for converting business requirements into structured development artifacts.

\n

· Incorporate business-analysis concepts into the application- process, including requirements clarification, use cases, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data requirements.

\n

· Identify when a user’s requested solution has evolved beyond the boundaries appropriate for development.

\n

· Design escalation or “graduation” mechanisms that transition complex or high-risk applications into formal engineering and governance processes.

\n

Automated Quality and SDLC

\n

· Build automated testing and validation into the process.

\n

· Integrate generated applications with Git-based source control and Azure DevOps.

\n

· Support automated of documentation, work items, test cases, release artifacts, and other SDLC assets.

\n

· Collaborate on mechanisms that ensure applications follow established DEV, test/UAT, and production promotion paths.

\n

· Design for traceability between user intent, requirements, generated code, testing, and deployed functionality.

\n

Platform Development

\n

· Work closely with the Azure Application Platform & DevSecOps Engineer to integrate application with automated Azure provisioning.

\n

· Define clear interfaces between the AI/application- layer and the underlying infrastructure/governance layer.

\n

· Participate in architectural decisions governing the overall incubation platform.

\n

· Help establish reusable standards that allow the platform to support progressively broader application use cases.

\n

· Experience building applications for non-technical users.

The Person We Are Looking For

\n

The strongest candidate will probably be difficult to categorize.

\n

You may be a traditional software engineer who has become deeply interested in AI-assisted development. You may have started experimenting with generative AI and discovered that it allows you to build dramatically faster-but also discovered why experienced engineers are still required.

\n

You should be comfortable allowing AI to write substantial portions of software while remaining unwilling to trust generated code simply because it compiles.

\n

You should be curious, pragmatic, technically rigorous, and comfortable challenging assumptions.

\n

Most importantly, you should be excited by the idea of building a development platform whose greatest achievement is making most of its underlying technical sophistication invisible to the person using it.
