Infrastructure Engineer II

• Work closely with internal IT, Server, and Security teams to troubleshoot issues, review logs, and resolve production and non-production environment problems.
• Work independently and provide solutions to users.
• Manage Power BI Gateways to ensure dashboards and reports refresh automatically.
• Build CI/CD pipelines to migrate Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports between workspaces using Power BI REST APIs and Power Platform.
• Build and support Power BI platform metrics, including:
• User tracking and logging
• Usage monitoring
• Anomaly detection in published datasets
• Enterprise-level reporting
• Configure Power BI tenant settings, including:
• Workspace settings
• Export and sharing settings
• Publish to Web settings
• Developer settings
• Manage Power BI Premium capacities for capacity planning and performance management.
• Monitor Premium capacities regularly to identify trends and underlying issues.
• Train self-service BI users and support business adoption of self-service BI through:
• Communications
• Training materials
• User support
• Support BI production environments for large-scale user bases.
• Participate in on-call support for production issues.
• Provide leadership and vision for best practices regarding the Cognos toolset.
• Establish standards and guidelines for BI development.
• Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Do you have experience in Training material drafting?, * Extensive experience implementing and managing BI platforms for business intelligence, data applications, and embedded analytics.

• 10+ years of experience managing BI platforms including Power BI, Looker, and Amazon QuickSight.
• Experience designing and delivering complex platform architectures.
• Extensive experience with Python programming, Shell Scripting, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience identifying and implementing automation solutions using scripting.
• Experience working with product APIs to automate administrative functions.
• Extensive knowledge and experience setting up security using Active Directory, Azure AD, and PingFederate.
• Experience configuring OAuth and SAML for Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.
• Experience defining SDLC processes and CI/CD processes using Jenkins.
• Experience integrating Looker with Git repositories for code commits.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with platform governance and resiliency.

Power BI Administration & Architecture:

• Power BI Service architecture design and administration, including:
• Azure and Power BI Administration
• Power BI Premium Capacity Administration
• Extensive knowledge of Power BI Premium Service
• Troubleshooting and identifying automation opportunities to streamline daily platform operations
• Experience with Looker setup and administration.
• Architect and develop data models, ETL packages, and reports utilizing Power BI while applying development lifecycle best practices.
• Data modeling experience using the Kimball Method.
• Experience with multiple database platforms such as:
• Snowflake
• Oracle
• DB2
• SQL Server

Technical Knowledge:

• Understanding of external components required for successful BI tool connectivity, including:
• Network
• Firewall
• Proxy
• Experience integrating Power BI with various tools, including but not limited to:
• Splunk
• Collibra
• ServiceNow
• Understanding prerequisites for successful connection setup.
• Strong ability to quickly propose solutions by leveraging:
• MVP and Product Team articles
• Vendor documentation
• Whitepapers
• Community publications
