Sr. Principal Mobile Software Architect

Mobile Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Define and evolve the long-term architecture strategy for mobile software platforms.
• Establish scalable frameworks supporting multiple products, device generations, and future technology integrations.
• Lead architectural reviews and technical decision-making across mobile, cloud, embedded, quality, systems, and product teams.
• Develop standards for software design, maintainability, security, and engineering excellence.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, platform changes, and industry trends to guide modernization efforts.
• Create and maintain technical architecture documentation for regulated development environments.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering best practices across the organization.

Connected Device & Platform Integration

• Architect communication layers between mobile applications and connected hardware devices.
• Define strategies for connectivity, synchronization, data management, and reliability across mobile ecosystems.
• Collaborate with firmware and backend teams to establish robust interfaces, protocols, and data exchange models.
• Drive solutions that support multiple operating systems, device types, and usage scenarios.

Software Development & Delivery

• Contribute hands-on development in critical application areas.
• Build proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate architectural approaches.
• Lead complex troubleshooting efforts involving performance, connectivity, reliability, or platform-specific issues.
• Support code reviews, design reviews, testing strategies, and delivery processes.
• Champion automation, quality engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

AI-Enabled Engineering

• Promote practical adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.
• Introduce reusable workflows and tooling that improve engineering efficiency and quality.
• Establish governance and review practices around AI-generated outputs.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and recommend technologies that provide measurable business value.
• Mentor teams on responsible and effective use of AI throughout the software lifecycle.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 6+ years of experience building mobile applications and platforms.
• Strong expertise in iOS or Android development, with at least some experience across both ecosystems.
• Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering complex mobile software products from concept through release.
• Experience integrating mobile software with connected devices, embedded systems, or hardware-enabled products.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership in architecture, mentoring, and engineering best practices., * Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical domains.
• Background in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), wireless connectivity, or device communication protocols.
• Experience with cybersecurity, secure application design, threat modeling, or software risk management.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with mobile observability, analytics, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Advanced degree in a related technical discipline.

Note: This role is also open to remote U.S. candidates that are willing to regularly travel to company offices

Compensation: Up to $215k base salary, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits package.
