Job DescriptionJob Title: Solution Architect Application Development FocusLocation: Baltimore, MD (100% remote)Position Type: W2 Full time. Overview:We are seeking a Solution Architect with a strong application development background (not infrastructure-focused) to lead and collaborate on critical technology initiatives. This role plays a key part in enabling enterprise-wide technology architecture and supporting agile product delivery, with a focus on scalability, resilience, and innovation.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or consult on technology implementation efforts, especially for shared or new infrastructure solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance on application and infrastructure development projects, aligning with enterprise architecture standards.
• Partner with product managers, owners, and architects across EA disciplines to ensure infrastructure agility and resilience throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver effective architecture solutions.
• Produce architecture documentation, conduct project postmortems, and contribute to ongoing metric collection and analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Analysis, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of IT design and implementation experience
• Deep knowledge in at least two technical areas:
• Application development
• Infrastructure and network design
• Middleware/APIs
• Cloud technologies
• Virtualization & clustering
• Storage & database ops
• Active Directory/protocols
• Exposure to diverse tech stacks and architectures
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and product lifecycle methodologies

Technical & Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication, leadership, and facilitation skills
• Deep knowledge of enterprise tech architecture components
• Familiar with modeling languages (UML, ArchiMate), ITSM/ITIL, and IT controls
• Strong grasp of design patterns and principles
• Understanding of network/security architecture, budgeting, and financial modeling
• Ability to guide teams on managing technical risk and architectural debt

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Data Management
• Exposure to Appian or Salesforce is a plus
• Background in financial services or asset management preferred

Certifications (Preferred):

• TOGAF, ITIL, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect
• Agile or SAFe certifications
• Security (CISSP/CISM) if applicable
