Staff Android TV UI Engineer

The DISH Technology team in Englewood requires an engineering leader to build and maintain high-performance software applications on next-generation Android TV set-top boxes. This role addresses critical performance bottlenecks, memory profiling, and UI responsiveness on hardware-constrained STB chipsets to ensure a seamless media playback experience. Additionally, the position drives scalable, modular application architectures while establishing modern AI-driven development workflows across the engineering organization What Success Looks Like (Objectives):

• Develop reactive, responsive TV user interfaces using Kotlin/Java, Jetpack Compose for TV, and Android Studio
• Optimize Leanback D-pad navigation, focus management, and rendering pipelines on hardware-constrained STB chipsets
• Implement real-time logging, analytics data, and field observability tools across deployed customer STBs
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code refactoring, improve test coverage, and streamline code reviews
• Establish engineering standards for AI-driven development workflows, unit testing, and automated CI/CD release pipelines

• Custom TV UI focus mechanics, Leanback D-pad navigation, and Android TV development
