Cloud & AI Platform Architect (contract)

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical leader to play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evolving enterprise-scale cloud, data, analytics, and AI platforms across global regions, including the US and China. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, modern data platforms, advanced analytics, Generative AI, and intelligent automation, and will work in close partnership with Enterprise Architects, Data Architects, AI/ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects. Operating under the strategic guidance of Enterprise and Principal Architects, this individual will be instrumental in delivering scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that align with business priorities, enterprise standards, and long-term technology strategy, while driving meaningful innovation across data, AI, and cloud ecosystems.

Responsibilities: Design and implement enterprise-scale AWS cloud, data, and AI architectures.

Lead cloud adoption, infrastructure deployments, and platform modernization initiatives.

Architect scalable data lake, warehouse, and lakehouse solutions using AWS services.

Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.

Establish architecture standards, governance, security, and operational best practices.

Design data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and semantic layer frameworks.

Develop AI-ready architectures using AWS Bedrock, vector databases, knowledge bases, and RAG solutions.

Architect AI agents, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation platforms.

Drive AI innovation through proofs of concept and emerging technology evaluations. Ensure responsible AI, data governance, compliance, monitoring, performance, and cost optimization across cloud and AI platforms.

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and performance optimization

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing RAG, Graph RAG, semantic search, and knowledge management solutions
• Understanding of LLM application architecture, prompt engineering, AI orchestration frameworks, and AI evaluation techniques
• Experience designing enterprise semantic layers and AI-ready data products
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks, autonomous agents, workflow orchestration, and intelligent automation patterns
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles, distributed systems, and platform engineering practices
• Ability to understand, document, and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
• Proven ability to align business capabilities, data strategy, cloud platforms, and AI initiatives into cohesive technology solutions
• Strong collaboration skills with architecture, engineering, product, and business teams, * 3+ years strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, IAM, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation, EMR, Kafka/MSK, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch
• 3+ years extensive SQL expertise and deep experience designing and optimizing Amazon Redshift-based analytics platforms
• 4+ years experience building enterprise-scale data lakes, lakehouses, and modern data platforms
• 4+ years experience with ETL/ELT technologies such as Talend, Informatica, dbt, Matillion, or equivalent tools
• 1+ years experience with AWS Bedrock, foundation models, embeddings, vector databases, and Generative AI architectures
• 1+ years experience building proofs of concept and translating emerging technologies into production-ready solutions

Preferred Skills:

• AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification preferred
• AWS Data Analytics certification preferred
• AWS Machine Learning certification preferred

• AWS AI certification preferred

• Experience with Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, OpenSearch, Pinecone, Weaviate, or equivalent graph and vector technologies preferred
• Experience implementing MLOps, LLMOps, AI governance, and model lifecycle management frameworks preferred
• Exposure to multi-region and cross-border cloud deployments, including China-based AWS environments preferred
