REMOTE - System Administrator

A learning organizaiton at a large software and networking company is looking for a System Administrator to join an Infrastructure team, supporting lab solutions for all of their products and technology. You will be an integral member of a team maintaining Award Winning Learning Content using innovative learning strategies and methods. This team is adapting their learning products to support the way people learn and at the same time enabling the next generation of Network and Data Engineers.

You will be responsible for *Design and integration of a wide range of infrastructure management tools. *Preparing technical documentation and knowledge sharing with other team members. *Taking an active part in troubleshooting of ongoing issues and providing root cause analysis for them. *Proactive monitoring and access control management of various systems. *Design, implementation, and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans. *Development and execution of comprehensive OS patching strategies and automated solutions to ensure system security and compliance.

*5+ years experience. *Very strong Ubuntu Linux administration skills. *Very strong VMware virtualization skills. *Strong proficiency in Ansible for network and infrastructure automation. *Strong server HW background and Cisco UCS. *Understanding of Network Security and Firewall technologies. *Degree in Computer Science or related degree/qualification. *Previous Cisco Experience *Experience of NetApp storage solutions and products including SnapCenter/SnapMirror. *Experience of the following: oMySQL and/or Postgres oHAproxy and/or nginx oApache web server oSSL certificate generation/renewal oGit oDocker *Experience with Proxmox. *Experience with vulnerability scanning applications such as Nessus. *Good understanding of key network technologies including IP addressing and basic routing. *Experience with Programming/Scripting: Python, Perl, Bash/shell, PowerShell. *Proficiency in AI technologies and their practical application to drive productivity, automation, and operational efficiency. *Technical expertise in configuration management, distributed transactional systems, and workflow tools. *Understanding of Software deliveries in large Service Providers & Enterprises with exposure to various delivery methodologies including Agile/DevOps, CI/CD. *Understanding of network technologies and awareness of new industry directions such as micro-services, containers, Kubernetes, proactive and reactive assurance. *Proven experience in managing long-term OS lifecycle strategies and enterprise-grade backup/recovery architectures.
