Data Delivery

Job description

The Data Architect owns assigned studies end-to-end, taking full responsibility for both the design of the database on Citrus and the quality of the data it produces, from study planning through database lock. The role designs with the final analysis in mind, writes code where manual review would slow delivery, and designs the edit checks and validation that prevent issues before they make their way downstream. The Data Architect is the technical and data lead for assigned studies and works with Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Programme Directors, and Product to ensure each study captures the data its scientific objectives require.

One person owns the database from study planning through lock, so the design and the data it produces never drift apart. The role also shapes how data delivery on Citrus develops, identifying where manual work can be automated., * Own your assigned studies end-to-end, from defining critical data items and the data management plan through to database lock

  • Own the design of your studies on Citrus, utilizing AI combined with your expert review to translate protocol requirements into a specification and edit check logic that capture clean, analysis-ready data, and sign off that the design meets the protocol before go-live
  • Assess feasibility and flag complexity and risk early, where a design choice could affect data integrity, participant safety or study endpoints
  • Manage the full query lifecycle from generation through resolution, working directly with sites
  • Lead proactive, risk-based data review, automated where possible, to keep key study milestones on track, building repeatable checks rather than one-off reports
  • Use scripting and AI tooling day-to-day to automate data review, flag anomalies, and surface issues earlier, applied responsibly within validation, GCP and 21 CFR Part 11 expectations
  • Own fixes and change requests on your own studies during conduct, assessing their impact and the level of testing and sign-off required
  • Perform ongoing safety data review and facilitate medical coding (MedDRA, WHODrug) with the medical team
  • Build reports using programmatic data access (Python, R, SQL), delivered accurately and on schedule
  • Conduct all activities in line with relevant regulations and Lindus SOPs, keep study documentation to a standard that holds up under audit or inspection, and support auditors and inspectors on your studies where needed
  • Report bugs and usability issues, and feed operational insight back to Product to improve how Citrus supports data delivery

Requirements

  • You have around 5+ years of experience across clinical data management and/or trial platform design, with hands-on involvement in study setup, data review, and database lock
  • You can design a study’s data capture on an EDC platform and define its specification: you understand edit checks and validation, and you can see how a design decision today could become a data quality problem later
  • You work with data programmatically, or are ready to build that skill quickly: Python, R, or SQL are used daily in this role, and you are expected to learn them on the job if you do not already have them
  • You have working knowledge of CDISC standards, particularly CDASH, with SDTM familiarity a plus, and you design with analysis-ready data in mind
  • You have experience with external data transfers and reconciliation
  • You understand GCP, ICH E6 and 21 CFR Part 11 and apply them in day-to-day decisions
  • You apply AI and automation responsibly to improve the quality and speed of data work in a regulated setting
  • You have a track record of working well across functions, especially Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, Programme Directors, and Product
  • You thrive in a startup environment that challenges the norms of typical biotechs, with high agency and a bias for action
  • You are passionate about our mission: changing how the healthcare industry operates and how new health treatments are developed
