Cloud & IoT Software Architect

For our Berlin office, we are currently seeking a Cloud & IoT Software Architect (m/f/d) to start immediately.

Your Impact

• You will develop the strategic architectural vision for our cloud platform and ensure its phased, sustainable implementation.
• You’ll make and advocate for cross-functional architectural decisions regarding platform structure, integration patterns, data sovereignty, scalability, and operating models.
• You will define architectural principles and guidelines that provide direction for our teams and ensure a consistent platform architecture in the long term.
• You will support and coordinate the architects across various products and domains and work with them to develop viable solutions.
• You evaluate technological options and make-or-buy decisions based on strategic value, risks, costs, and future viability.
• You will shape the further development of existing products into a unified platform, including multi-tenancy, on-premises capability, and secure integration.
• You will incorporate security, compliance, availability, testability, and operability into the architecture from the very beginning.
• You advise product management and executives on strategic initiatives and clearly communicate technical contexts and implications.

• Extensive experience in the architecture of complex, distributed, and cloud-based systems
• Experience in a cross-functional architecture role in which you have provided technical guidance and alignment to multiple architects or development teams
• Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic architectural roadmaps for platforms or extensive product landscapes
• In-depth knowledge of cloud and platform architectures, particularly scalability, reliability, integration, data architecture, and operating models
• Experience with architectural approaches such as Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, microservices, and API-based integrations, as well as a keen understanding of their limitations
• Strong knowledge of modern cloud technologies, container platforms, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and observability at the conceptual and strategic levels
• Experience with Security by Design and the security requirements for networked, business-critical systems
• The ability to reconcile differing interests, drive decisions, and advocate for them across technical and organizational levels
• Excellent German and English language skills, as well as a relevant degree, comparable training, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred

• Experience with large, high-availability payment or transaction systems
• Knowledge of multi-tenancy and on-premises deployment of cloud platforms
• Experience with IoT, edge, or embedded systems
• Experience consolidating legacy product and system landscapes
• Knowledge of modern analytics and streaming architectures
• An architecture certification, such as iSAQB or TOGAF

Salary Details:

Your salary will fall within the specified salary range and will be based on your individual qualifications, professional experience, and the skills you bring to the role.

The position is a two-year fixed-term contract.
