Senior Cloud Software Developer

• You’ll design and develop Java-based microservices for our cloud platform and be responsible for your components from implementation through to stable operation.
• You’ll develop new platform features and integrate existing applications and devices into the cloud environment.
• You’ll consistently work with TDD and clean code. Together with QA and the Product Owner, you’ll define acceptance criteria and BDD scenarios.
• You’ll help shape the technical architecture as part of the team, using approaches such as domain-driven design, event sourcing, and CQRS. In doing so, you’ll address business boundaries, interfaces, and clear data ownership.
• You critically evaluate technologies for new projects, justify your assessments, and contribute your experience to technical decisions.
• You set up and further develop CI pipelines and manage container builds and deployments.
• You operate software in AWS and Kubernetes environments. This includes monitoring, logging, error analysis, and third-level support for your components.
• As an experienced team member, you’ll support your colleagues through code reviews, pair programming, and discussions about technical decisions.
• You’ll work closely with QA and the Product Owner, particularly on issues related to testability, test environments, technical feasibility, and the effective breakdown of user stories.
• When needed, you’ll also contribute to our React frontend., * Application Review - You’ll immediately receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. Our HR manager will review your documents and contact you personally.
• Interviews
• Initial Introduction - A brief, approximately 30-minute online conversation with our HR team
• Technical Interview - An online meeting with the relevant department to discuss your experience and technical questions.
• On-site Interview & Final Decision - Visit to our Berlin office: Meet the team and management, and take a tour. This is followed by our final feedback and, if applicable, a job offer.

• You have several years of experience in backend development with Java and have developed distributed systems using current Java versions as well as Spring Boot or a comparable framework.

• You have hands-on experience with microservices, event sourcing, CQRS, and event-driven communication, for example using NATS, Kafka, or MQTT. TDD, BDD, Clean Code, Clean Architecture, and SOLID are development practices you actively apply.

• You are proficient with Docker and have set up and maintained CI pipelines yourself.
• You have experience operating software in cloud environments, particularly with AWS EC2 and Kubernetes.
• You are experienced working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• You enjoy sharing your knowledge and have already supported less experienced developers through mentoring, pair programming, or code reviews. This does not involve a leadership role.
• Modern front-end technologies don’t intimidate you; ideally, you’ve already had some exposure to React.
• You communicate confidently in English.
• You have a degree in computer science or a related field, or you have comparable training and relevant professional experience.
• You take responsibility for your components beyond mere development and see them through to production.
• You constructively question technical decisions, explain your assessments clearly, and collaborate with development, QA, and the product owner as an equal partner.
