Job description

This is a hands-on technical architecture role rather than a people-management position. You will work closely with product, engineering, business, security, operations, and implementation teams to translate eCommerce strategy into scalable technical solutions and carry those designs through development, integration, testing, and launch.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years designing and delivering enterprise eCommerce or marketplace solutions in an architecture capacity. \n

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex commerce solutions from architecture and design through production launch. \n

  • Strong hands-on development experience with Java, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, or comparable technologies. \n

  • Deep understanding of API-first, headless, and composable commerce architectures. \n

  • Experience with service-oriented and event-driven architectures, including synchronous and asynchronous integrations. \n

  • Practical experience with enterprise commerce platforms and capabilities including catalogs, pricing, carts, checkout, and order lifecycle management. \n

  • Strong integration experience using REST, GraphQL, webhooks, messaging, identity federation, and enterprise APIs. \n

  • Experience designing resilient integrations involving retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and data consistency. \n

  • Experience designing cloud-based solutions using Azure, AWS, or comparable cloud environments. \n

  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment, infrastructure as code, automated deployments, monitoring, and observability. \n

  • Working knowledge of relational and nonrelational databases, search and indexing technologies, caching, content delivery, performance testing, and distributed systems. \n

  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to engineering teams, business stakeholders, and implementation partners. \n

Benefits & conditions

We are looking for someone who combines deep eCommerce architecture expertise with hands-on engineering experience and is comfortable operating in a complex enterprise environment.

\n

\n

What You’ll Be Doing

\n

\n \n

  • Own end-to-end solution architecture across storefronts, commerce services, marketplace capabilities, integration layers, and data flows. \n

  • Define and evolve the architecture for a modern API-first, headless, and composable commerce environment. \n

  • Translate business and product requirements into architecture diagrams, API contracts, data models, technical specifications, and implementation designs. \n

  • Work directly with engineering teams throughout development, integration, testing, and production launch. \n

  • Build proofs of concept, reference implementations, and integration prototypes where needed. \n

  • Review critical code and troubleshoot complex application, integration, and distributed-system issues alongside development teams. \n

  • Architect integrations between commerce platforms and core enterprise systems supporting product information, pricing, inventory, orders, customer management, identity, payments, tax, and fulfillment. \n

  • Define system boundaries, data ownership, data flows, and integration patterns across customer, seller, product, catalog, pricing, inventory, and order domains. \n

  • Design sophisticated B2B commerce capabilities, including account hierarchies, customer-specific catalogs and pricing, purchasing workflows, complex search and product discovery, availability, checkout, and order visibility. \n

  • Architect marketplace functionality including seller onboarding, catalog and offer ingestion, order routing, commissions, settlement, and returns. \n

  • Establish reusable architectural patterns capable of supporting multiple regions, currencies, languages, catalogs, and business requirements. \n

  • Break architecture into executable engineering increments while identifying dependencies, technical risks, and implementation blockers. \n

  • Define requirements for security, performance, availability, resilience, accessibility, observability, and recovery. \n

  • Review technical designs and deliverables produced by implementation partners to ensure alignment with architecture and engineering standards. \n

  • Establish sustainable deployment, monitoring, support, and recovery patterns. \n

  • Maintain current-state and target-state architecture documentation and contribute to the technical roadmap. \n

  • Partner with product teams on AI-enabled commerce capabilities, including intelligent search, product recommendations, and marketplace analytics. \n

\n

\n, n \n

  • Experience architecting complex B2B eCommerce environments with large product catalogs, sophisticated pricing, inventory, and order-management requirements. \n

  • Experience with multi-seller marketplace architecture and seller integrations. \n

  • Experience handling product, catalog, pricing, and inventory data. \n

  • Experience delivering global commerce platforms supporting multiple regions, languages, currencies, and localized requirements. \n

  • Experience integrating modern eCommerce platforms with both modern and legacy enterprise applications. \n

  • Experience with modern storefront frameworks, automated integration and contract testing, cloud architecture, and secure software development practices. \n
