Database Engineer

• Perform core Oracle DBA tasks including installation, configuration, patching, backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning. \n

• Support and maintain Oracle APEX environments; basic development or troubleshooting experience is sufficient to optimize Oracle APEX pages, components, forms, and interactive reports. \n

• Develop and maintain scripts (Shell, Python, PowerShell, etc.) to automate operational tasks, improve reliability, and assist in deployments. \n

• Follow strong version control and configuration management practices using Git-based workflows. \n

• Execute ETL and data migration tasks, including migrations coming from BASS and related systems. \n

• Assist in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL modernization efforts, including data model conversion and migration activities. \n

• Collaborate closely with application teams, analysts, and DevOps to maintain stable, high-quality database environments. \n

• Support environments with financial system components and compliance requirements (desired but not required). \n

• Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks with a high degree of accuracy. \n

• Follow security and compliance best practices for database access, auditing, and data handling. \n

• Maintain procedural and technical documentation in shared knowledge platforms. \n

Years’ Experience: 3+ Years of experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT related field.

Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance., * Must have Oracle DBA experience performing tasks that include installation, configuration, patching, backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning. \n

• Must have Oracle APEX experience and PostgreSQL experience. \n

• Direct ETL and data migration experience. \n

• Strong scripting skills with Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell required. \n

• Experience with version control and structured Configuration Management processes using Git based workflows., * 3+ years of professional experience as an Oracle DBA in production environments. \n

• Bachelor’s degree in IT related field. \n

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. \n

• Must have Oracle DBA experience performing tasks that include installation, configuration, patching, backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning. \n

• Must have hands-on experience with Oracle APEX. \n

• Strong scripting skills with Shell, Python, and/or PowerShell required. \n

• Experience with version control and structured Configuration Management processes using Git based workflows. \n

• Direct ETL and data migration experience. \n

• Experience supporting or participating in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration efforts. \n

• Excellent attention to detail and responsiveness in day-to-day operations. \n

• Must have strong written and verbal communication. \n

• Experience supporting financial systems or financial data workflows. \n

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL administration or application support. \n

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc). \n

• Experience operating in cloud or hybrid on-prem/cloud environments (AWS preferred). \n

• Relevant database or cloud certifications. \n
