Content Designer

AgileSource are seeking an experienced Content Designer to join a multidisciplinary digital team delivering user-centred public sector services. This role will focus on improving the clarity, accessibility and consistency of content across a range of digital products and services, ensuring users can easily understand and interact with complex information., Duration: Initial contract through December 2026 with strong likelihood of extension through March 2027

Location: Remote within the UK, with occasional travel for team workshops and collaboration sessions

Working closely with Product Managers, Service Designers, User Researchers, Developers and other UCD professionals, you will help shape content strategies, design content for new and existing features, and contribute to the overall user experience across multiple service areas., * Create clear, concise and accessible content for digital products and services.

• Design and iterate user-facing content for new features, enhancements and service improvements.
• Conduct content audits and identify opportunities to simplify, rationalise and improve existing content.
• Develop content structures, guidance and governance to ensure consistency across products and services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve user problems and improve service outcomes.
• Participate in workshops, sketching sessions, service design activities and co-design exercises.
• Present content recommendations and rationale to stakeholders and team members.
• Ensure terminology, messaging and user guidance remain clear and consistent across interconnected services.
• Produce and maintain supporting content, including user guidance, training materials and knowledge resources.
• Support the delivery of accessibility and content design best practices in line with government digital standards.

• Proven experience working as a Content Designer within complex digital environments.
• Strong understanding of GDS service standards and user-centred design principles.
• Experience designing content for transactional or data-driven digital services.
• Ability to conduct content audits and develop content strategies based on user needs.
• Experience working within agile multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Demonstrable experience creating accessible content and applying accessibility standards.
• Ability to simplify complex information into clear, actionable content for end users.

Desirable Experience

• Experience delivering content design within central government or wider public sector organisations.
• Experience supporting service migrations, content transformation or service redesign programmes.
• Familiarity with content governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience working with education, regulatory or data-focused services.
