Software Engineer

We in the Machinery Controls & Automation Products department provide the control system capabilities that enable safe, reliable, and efficient shipboard operations across multiple platforms and customers. Our work demands deep technical rigor, disciplined execution, and forward looking innovation. This position will be responsible for developing software according to requirements, supporting system test and performance analyses, and developing and delivering software-related artifacts to the customer. Ensures software standards are met.

Software Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, Software Development, System Test, Performance Analysis, Multiplatform/Cross-Platform, Java, Python Programming/Scripting Language, Software Administration, Hands-on experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining software using C++, Python, Java, and Java Script. Experience with software requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and software verification. Experience using version-control tools such as Git and working within established software configuration-management processes.
