Senior Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and data pipelines.
• Build and optimize complex database queries and data models (SQL and NoSQL).

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to deliver data-driven solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development and data handling.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker) is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment in Bilbao, Basque Country.
• Proficiency in English is required.
