Senior Systems Engineer, Ground Systems with Security Clearance

· Location: This role will be on-site in Centennial, Colorado OR Long Beach, California. · Duration: 4 month contract to hire, you will convert perm after 4 months

· Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI or TS/SAP clearance Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of full lifecycle experience supporting satellite ground control systems through design, integration, test, and verification Experience with satellite command and control (C2), telemetry/tracking systems, and/or ground station networks Strong experience with requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification Experience integrating space-to-ground systems requiring Type 1 encryption Experience with commercial and/or government-provided Antenna-as-a-Service (AaaS) solutions Understanding of the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) lifecycle as it applies to ground control systems Understanding of modulation, demodulation, encoding, and decoding within the satellite C2 signal chain Experience supporting system deployment, integration, and Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities under Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 Experience developing and supporting system-level integration and verification plans Strong systems architecture and technical leadership experience Experience leading technical trade studies, performance analyses, and design/technical reviews Ability to coordinate across hardware, software, cybersecurity, ground infrastructure, and operations teams Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI or TS/SAP clearance Nice to Have Skills & Experience Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field Active TS/SCI clearance Experience supporting classified or defense satellite ground-system programs Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Experience with range certification, Test Readiness Reviews, and/or safety boards Familiarity with DoD and NASA mission standards and processes Experience working with government agencies, defense primes, or subcontractors on satellite command-and-control systems Experience supporting real-time satellite or mission operations Job Description The Senior Systems Engineer, Ground Systems will support the development, integration, testing, and verification of satellite command-and-control ground systems used for mission-critical space operations. This individual will develop and manage requirements across command-and-control infrastructure, telemetry and tracking systems, ground station networks, and space-to-ground interfaces while maintaining requirements traceability and supporting verification activities. They will work across hardware, software, cybersecurity, and operations teams to conduct technical trade studies, evaluate design changes, troubleshoot integration issues, develop system-level integration and verification plans, and support end-to-end testing. The Senior Systems Engineer will also assess system performance, latency, data integrity, reliability, mission risks, and operational readiness while supporting design reviews, customer engagements, deployment, and real-time mission operations. r.
