Job description
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using IBM Mainframe technologies.
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs to support complex business requirements.
- Create, modify, and execute JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
- Work with DB2 databases, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain CICS online transactions and screen processing.
- Work with VSAM datasets, including KSDS, ESDS, and RRDS.
- Analyze existing legacy applications and implement system enhancements.
- Perform batch processing, job monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain production support solutions for critical mainframe applications.
- Identify and resolve application defects, abends, and performance issues.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.
- Work on mainframe application modernization and legacy system migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and cross-functional development teams.
- Optimize COBOL programs and DB2 queries for improved application performance.
- Manage source code using Endevor, Changeman, or Git.
- Support application deployments, release management, and production implementation.
- Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile development activities.
