Job description

Accenture Song accelerates growth and value for our clients by creating meaningful, relevant digital experiences and products. Our capabilities span product strategy, experience design, technology, engineering, creative, data, AI, media, and marketing.

Song’s Design & Digital Products team designs and builds software that improves how people work, interact, and live. Our multidisciplinary teams bring together product strategy, engineering, design, quality engineering, data, AI, and delivery expertise to turn complex ideas into scalable, accessible, and high-performing digital products across web, mobile, and connected experiences.

You are

A hands-on web engineer who enjoys building modern digital products and solving complex technical problems.

You are comfortable taking ownership of features from idea through production, collaborating closely with product, design, engineering, and client teams to translate business and user needs into high-quality software.

You have a strong foundation in modern front-end engineering, particularly React and TypeScript, and understand how front-end applications interact with APIs, backend services, cloud platforms, and modern delivery pipelines.

You care about more than making something work. You think about maintainability, accessibility, performance, security, testing, and the overall user experience.

You are also curious about emerging technologies and understand how AI-assisted engineering tools can accelerate development while maintaining appropriate engineering judgment, review, security, and quality standards.

The work

  • Build and enhance modern, responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and frameworks such as Next.js, Angular.js.
  • Develop reusable components, hooks, services, and application patterns that improve consistency and maintainability.
  • Translate product requirements and UX designs into accessible, responsive, and high-performing digital experiences.
  • Integrate applications with REST, GraphQL, backend-for-frontend (BFF), and other API architectures.
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript, with opportunities to work with technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, or Go.
  • Own features throughout the software development lifecycle-from technical discovery and estimation through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Apply modern React patterns for component composition, state management, data fetching, caching, routing, and client/server rendering.
  • Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as Vitest, Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
  • Use modern development tooling such as Vite, Next.js, Storybook, ESLint, npm, pnpm, Yarn, Nx, or Turborepo.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and workflows to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and prototyping while maintaining appropriate human review and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and contribute to component libraries and design systems that create consistent digital experiences.
  • Apply accessibility standards and practices, including semantic HTML, keyboard accessibility, ARIA, and WCAG guidance.
  • Improve application performance through techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, caching, image optimization, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
  • Apply secure coding, privacy, and dependency-management practices throughout development.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, application monitoring, logging, and observability.
  • Participate in pull requests, code reviews, technical discovery, architecture discussions, and solution estimation.
  • Partner directly with client and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on working software.
  • Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, risks, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Work effectively within Agile product teams and adapt to changing technologies, requirements, and client environments.

Requirements

  • 2+ years:
  • professional software engineering experience building production web applications.
  • experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern front-end framework, preferably React.
  • Experience building responsive, component-based user interfaces using HTML, modern CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience developing or integrating applications with REST APIs or other modern API architectures.
  • Experience with React concepts such as hooks, component composition, state management, routing, and asynchronous data handling.
  • Experience with modern front-end build and development tooling.
  • Experience writing automated tests and working with unit, integration, or end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Understanding of responsive design, browser standards, accessibility, web performance, and secure development practices.
  • Experience working with relational or NoSQL data stores and data-driven applications.
  • Exposure to at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to independently own development tasks and features while collaborating effectively within a larger engineering team.
  • Ability to travel as needed based on client or project requirements.

Bonus points if

  • You have production experience with React, Angular, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • You have experience building full-stack applications using modern React frameworks and backend-for-frontend architectures.
  • You have experience with server-side rendering (SSR), static generation, React Server Components, or modern Next.js application architectures.
  • You have worked with state management and data-fetching technologies such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, TanStack Query, or similar libraries.
  • You have experience building or contributing to design systems, component libraries, or Storybook.
  • You have experience with monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo.
  • You have experience with API technologies and patterns such as REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.
  • You have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, infrastructure as code, or modern CI/CD platforms.
  • You have experience with application telemetry, logging, monitoring, and observability.
  • You have experience integrating generative AI or agentic capabilities into digital products, including LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool use, structured outputs, evaluation, grounding, or responsible AI controls.
  • You have used AI coding assistants or agent-based development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining code review, testing, security, and quality standards.
  • You have experience with authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, or enterprise identity providers.
  • You have experience working in consulting, digital products, an agency, or another client-facing engineering environment.
  • You have experience contributing to technical estimation, solutioning, rapid prototyping, or proof-of-concept development.
  • You have mentored junior developers or helped establish engineering standards and best practices within a team.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
